Six Unique Corporate Event Ideas For Atlanta Events

Six Unique Corporate Event Ideas For Atlanta Events

When it is time to plan your next function, these unique corporate event ideas for Atlanta events may be just the thing to get your people excited and motivated.  They won’t break the budget and they will build the team.  So let’s get started!

One:  The Golf Outing.  A tournament can be fun as people compete and relax at the same time.  Atlanta has some excellent golf courses and beautiful weather.  It would be a shame not to take advantage of them.  After the tournament, bring your people together with cocktails and dinner at the club.  Take the evening up a notch by bringing in a corporate comedian who can work the day’s scores and event into their program.  Soon everyone will be laughing and feeling like part of the family!

Two: The Group Challenge.  Divide your group into teams and give them a challenge.  They might need to design and build a paper airplane that will fly further than the competition’s.  Or create a raft that will hold more weight before sinking.  These challenges bring your people together as they compete in a crazy contest that leaves everyone feeling rejuvenated.

Three: The Parking Lot Picnic.  Cater a luncheon, have a covered dish or ask people to bring in their grills.  A picnic lunch in the middle of the day not only offers a relaxing break but builds the company community.  Consider a DJ to spin some tunes and a few games to keep things fun.

Four: A Company Softball Game.  Playing against departments, or a competitor, this is a great way to get some exercise while building camaraderie.  Those that don’t play should be encouraged to support the team.  Everyone needs a few cheerleaders in the stands!

Five:  Ghost Tour of Atlanta.  Ghost tours are a very unique way to spend an evening bonding with your fellow employees.  You’ll get some laughs and learn about some of Atlanta’s unique history.  Granted, they aren’t for everyone.  Add in some tavern hopping along the way.  It will help to keep the mood light.

Six: The Corporate Dinner.  What is unique about hosting a corporate dinner?  Create a theme for the event with catering, decorations and even the corporate entertainment.  Hire unique corporate entertainment that your staff doesn’t often see.  A great meal and a customized program that reinforces your message can make the corporate dinner a very unique event!

Planning A Corporate Event?

These tips and resources can help!

An e-mail from the boss finds you with the sudden task of planning a corporate event.

It may be as simple as organizing a parking lot picnic for the employees.  That seems pretty straight forward.  Set a date and time, call a caterer, hire a local band to play some music and ask someone to bring in a volleyball net so people have something to do.  Send out an announcement and you’ve completed the assignment – or have you?

You may be planning a sales meeting, organizing meeting rooms, travel logistics for the outer offices, luncheons and evening activities. You’ve got a lot to do. But before you start …

When you get tasked with planning a corporate event,
your reputation is on the line.

A successful event makes you look great.  Let’s not even consider the troubles a miserable event can cause.  Before you start planning, it is important to understand the outcome your company expects.

Whether your budget allows for a corporate event planner, or you need to plan the program on your own, these important tips will help you target the event to ensure success.  Even with expert guidance, these are aspects of the event that will require your attention.

Understand The Event’s Purpose

Each style of event is unique, and the purpose of your event needs to precede any planning. The type of event will be determined by the company’s goals.   Educational events require a different strategy than a recognition dinner, charity or social event.  While there are common elements, a clear purpose will allow you to target your efforts to produce the desired solution.

Understand your Target Audience

Identifying your target audience allows you to create an event that will meet the needs of your guests. Every audience is different.  For corporate events, you have to engage a specific business audience, so it is important to create a schedule and content that appeal to attendees. Speakers and entertainment should be selected keeping in mind the age of the audience attending the program.

Understand The Impact Of Location

Where you hold the event plays a huge role in the success or failure of your plans.  The venue contributes significantly to the impression of your corporate event. When choosing a location, you need to consider availability, accessibility, affordability and accommodations.  If the event is to be held outdoors, you will also need to consider weather conditions.  It may be important to have contingency plans.

With a clear understanding, you are ready to plan a corporate event that will meet your goals and provide an invigorating time for your guests!  If you are considering corporate entertainment to keep your guests engaged, contact our office for a free corporate entertainment consultation.  As a professional corporate entertainer with almost thirty years in the business, Tom has worked with some of the best corporate acts in the market.  If his show isn’t a fit for your vision, we are happy to recommend someone that will help make you shine!

Banquet Entertainment Ideas

Banquet Entertainment Ideas

What do you remember about the last banquet you attended?   Do you remember what color the linens were?  What the decorations looked like?  What appetizers that were served?  How the room was set up?  Chances are, not in detail unless you planned the event.  While the small details are important, one of the largest is often an afterthought.

 Banquet Entertainment Ideas

As you plan your next function, we would like to offer some banquet entertainment ideas to help you create an event that stands out from the rest.

Pre-dinner entertainment will always set the mood for your night.  Ambience music in the form of a D.J., piano player or instrumentalists always add to the atmosphere.  Living Statues, balloon artists, caricature artists, celebrity lookalikes and aerial acts swinging on a trapeze, hoop or cloth always add interest.  Don’t be surprised to find guests photographing these novelties and sharing them for a long time to come.

You may want to consider including Wacky Waiters.  These comedians blend in with the staff, but their service becomes more and more bizarre as the evening meal progresses.  You’ll find guests laughing as they try to figure out if the antics are deliberate.

For the traditional banquet entertainment show, you will find a myriad of after dinner speakers, magicians, jugglers, comedians and musicians.  With any variety or music act, you will want to do your homework.  Hiring the right banquet entertainment is more than just seeing a video and calling the agency, speaker, or entertainer.  You will want to take your audience into consideration.  Will everyone find the speaker’s topic engaging?  Will everyone want to dance to the musicians?  Or are the possible musical tastes too varied?  Will a magician or juggler be original enough to captivate your audience?  Will the comedian use clean material that won’t offend, yet still be funny?

We offer a free consultation that can help you find corporate dinner entertainment that is perfect for your event.  As a corporate comedian, Tom has provided personalized banquet entertainment for companies throughout the United States.  Having worked with some of the top acts and event planners in the corporate market, he listens to your vision and offers suggestions to help make your evening a success.

Making your banquet entertainment live up to your goals and expectations relies on selecting the right team.  Contact our office today to discuss your event.

How To Make Corporate Events Fun & Exciting

How To Make Corporate Events Fun & Exciting

Get the accolades you deserve for fun and exciting corporate events!

You are tapping on your keyboard; suddenly the CEO of your company calls you. With shivering hands you move into his office to find out what it is about this time. The CEO wishes to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company and he wants YOU to plan the event. He wants it to be a PERFECT event; an unforgettable experience for the employees. You have already started counting the number of employees in your head.  Your forehead starts shining to see the depth of the job. The shine is not the pride to undertake the honor; it’s the cold sweat because you know that you are once again on the hook.

It is a challenging job, which means that you have a good opportunity to prove your metal. Wipe off that sweat and get started. The first thing you will need to do is have a look at the allowed budget for the event. This is not the birthday party of your son where you can spend as much as you like. You must stay within the budget, and still bring the value to the corporate event.

One of the best ways to bring fun is to have themed parties. A masquerade party can cast a charm or you can go for a big band party with lots of dancing and music. A themed party allows participants to engage in the atmosphere and enjoy. The most distinguishing element of such parties is its decoration and outfits. Adornments make the place look different and exciting. You can also induct corporate entertainment into the event.

Do you remember the time when you watched a great comedy movie with your friends or family? These moments of relentless giggles are just unforgettable. Stage comedy is another successful way of making corporate parties exciting, especially if it’s done by a professional corporate entertainer. Everyone enjoys a hilarious performance, especially when it is performed on-stage by a corporate event entertainer. You can hire a magician, stage comedian or a ventriloquist for this job. Corporate entertainment is one of the most sought-after activities, both by event planners as well as audiences.

Corporate After Dinner Entertainment Ideas

Corporate After Dinner Entertainment Ideas

When its your turn to plan the corporate dinner, the choice of entertainment will decide how your evening ends.  You want to create lasting memories of fun, but how can you keep everyone engaged and appeal to the hard to please?

These
corporate after dinner entertainment ideas
can give you a great start to creating an event no one will forget.

When most people think about after dinner entertainment, they picture an after dinner program.  You can set the entire mood early by thinking outside of the box.  Caricature artists, instrumentalists, roving magicians, balloon artists, jugglers, aerialists and celebrity impersonators can mingle amongst guests during the cocktail hour.  From background music to atmosphere, their performances add excitement to the evening’s activities.

Hire some “wacky waiters” to mingle with the staff as dinner is being served.  They start as regular wait staff, but as the evening goes on their service becomes an error of comedies.  You’ll enjoy watching guests at first try to suppress their amusement as they wonder if the antics are intentional.  When the “gag” is finally revealed, the laughter flows.  You will find your audience is in a great mood and more than ready for the after dinner activities to begin.

For corporate after dinner entertainment, you need to be extremely aware of your group and their preferences.  Musical tastes vary widely.  Depending on the age range of your audience, music can either get people dancing, or leaving.  Hypnotists can provide plenty of laughs, but some guests may be afraid of embarrassment.  If guests aren’t willing, they can’t be hypnotized.  A hypnotist who can’t hypnotize anyone becomes a very poor choice for entertainment.

Jugglers and magicians are popular forms of corporate entertainment.  Chances are, you’ve seen them at events before.  If you want something different, you may want to head in an entirely different direction.

Luckily, everyone likes to laugh.  A good corporate comedian will personalize their program to your company, event and people so the material is not only clean but appropriate.  There are different styles of comedians.  One of the hottest forms of comedy right now is the ventriloquist.  A ventriloquist ranks in Forbes magazine as the highest grossing touring comedian.  Another won a major television contest and headlines sold out shows in Las Vegas.  There are few professional ventriloquists suitable for the corporate market, which makes this type of entertainment unique.

If you are in charge of the corporate dinner entertainment, contact our office to discuss ideas for your event.  Tom has worked with some of the top corporate acts and event planners in the country.  If his program isn’t a good fit for your needs, he is happy to connect you with people that can make your vision come to life!

The Corporate Holiday Party

The Corporate Holiday Party

It’s the Monday after Thanksgiving and you still haven’t finalized the plans for your Corporate Holiday Party.  Before you step into panic mode, let’s go back in time to figure out what you need to do to plan the perfect holiday party for your company.  It’s never too early to start thinking about holiday parties.  Let’s face it, most of these parties occur between Thanksgiving and New Year’s which leaves you about five weekends to choose from, and everyone else wants to hold theirs at the same time!  There are a number of things you can do to make sure your company’s holiday party runs smoothly for both you and your clients.

First, plan ahead.  Book your venue now.  Seriously, it may be March or June but the really good venues book quickly.  Some of the banquet halls and hotel conference rooms book for these prime dates years ahead of time.  Depending on your budget, you may also want to consider using your company’s conference or meeting rooms for the holiday party.  It will save your both money and the aggravation of employees who may not be able to get to a venue that is too far away.  Don’t forget about the food.  You want your clients to eat well and enjoy themselves at a holiday party.  Caterers, like venues, have lots of clients who want to book them in December for holiday parties.  Actually, you could get sandwiches at the local deli, but that’s hardly the atmosphere you want to set for a stand-out holiday corporate party.

Companies are also starting to have their holiday parties in January, after all the holiday buzz has died down and venues and caterers are less busy.  Savvy corporate party planners realize that they can save their clients’ money by booking in January, because caterers and banquet facilities offer much better deals during this slower time of the year.  And don’t forget, you want to have great entertainment at your holiday party.  Your attendees may remember the food, but they will be talking about the great comedian or corporate entertainer your booked long after the party has taken place.  A really exceptional entertainer who is experienced with corporate events such as holiday parties is also booked up very quickly in December.  If you decide you must hold your party then, make sure you book your entertainment early.  However, if you hold your party in January, you will be more likely to get a seasoned professional with a proven track record of successful corporate gigs.  And make sure your entertainer has experience customizing his show to meet the needs of your company.

The best way to take the guess work out of booking the right act for your upcoming company holiday party is to talk with ventriloquist Tom Crowl.  Tom is a professional corporate entertainer who specializes in customizing his show to meet your client’s needs.  Tom has a quick wit and his show includes plenty of audience interaction.  To put some life into your next holiday office party, hire corporate entertainment personalized to your event.
